Hillcrest Choir The Hillcrest choir, directed by Chris Dekker, sings four to six times throughout the church year, and is open to all individuals high school and above. This intergenerational ensemble typically rehearses twice for one hour (directly following morning worship) before each time they sing in worship, and singers are not required to make a long-term commitment in order to participate. Each rehearsal is fun yet focused, and music is carefully chosen to be challenging yet still accessible for singers of all ability levels.
Worship Teams Hillcrest’s strong tradition of congregational singing is bolstered each Sunday through the presence of worship teams. Typically consisting of four or five men and women, a guitarist, a pianist, and a drummer, worship team participation is open to all individuals regardless of age.
Soloists & Instrumentalists The Hillcrest congregation values the individual talents of soloists and instrumentalists. All dedicated musicians of any age are encouraged to share their God-given gifts in worship through the Sunday prelude or offertory, or though participation with the worship teams. Chris Dekker enjoys coaching and working alongside these musicians, and would love to hear from any interested individuals.
