Hillcrest hosts and supports Love INC’s Life Skills Program each Thursday evening. Love INC’s Life Skills Program offers a weekly mentoring opportunity that provides education and mentoring in a variety of areas including budgeting, nutrition, parenting and more. Through the key component of relationship, both volunteers and participants are transformed as they learn and apply core skills, discover their gifts to contribute to God’s kingdom, become connected to a local church and ultimately, get the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ!
Our church donates one meal and weekend snacks to needy families from Alward School and the Hudsonville Early Childhood Center each week during the school year The congregation supports this ministry by giving of financial gifts or food donations to help fill the backpacks.
Easter Egg Hunt
On the Saturday of Easter weekend, Hillcrest holds an Easter Egg Hunt for neighborhood families. It is a time for fun, fellowship and sharing the love of Jesus.
Live Nativity Night
On a Sunday before Christmas, Hillcrest has a Live Nativity Program. We invite anyone from the community to come and hear the story of the birth of Jesus.
The Hillcrest Sewing Ministry is a group of devoted women who help those in need by gathering each Tuesday morning to sew items or do needlework. The items they make are donated to hospitals, missionaries, mission agencies, etc.
Mom’s Time Out and Fun4Kids
A ministry for moms of all ages; which include the four key elements of Friends, Food, Faith and Fun. The meetings are the first Friday of the month, October – March. We also provide childcare (Fun4Kids) for the moms who are attending a Mom’s Time Out event. We provide a meal for the kids; and a fun and safe playtime and craft time for the kids while their moms are at Mom’s Time Out.
We choose to show the love of Jesus through many different ways…including service projects. We do food drives for local food banks, Christmas Angel Tree gifts for a local ministry, care packages, leaf raking, school supply donation drives, clothing drives, and volunteering at different ministries. We also support other ministry agencies that need our help for events, work projects, and other activities.
Work Projects and Short-Term Mission Service
Hillcrest supports its members who have an opportunity to serve both locally and internationally. Whether participating in a Hillcrest sponsored project or one God has led them to elsewhere, the church is deeply committed to helping its members share their talents and grow in their faith through these experiences.
