You are welcome here!
We understand that meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Hillcrest a great one!
Know that you’re among friends at Hillcrest Church. We’re the young and the old, the experienced Christians, the brand-new Christians, and those just curious about Jesus Christ. We’re families, singles, students, kids, and couples. Wherever you’ve come from, and wherever you’re at, you’re welcome to come as you are to Hillcrest! |
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
What should I wear?
We ask that you come to church dressed comfortably; there is no need to dress up—dress however you would normally dress when going into a public place or event.
Where are you located?
We are located at 3617 HIllcrest Road, on the corner of 36th Avenue and Hillcrest Road. We are at the second 4-way stop north of Chicago Drive or just one mile south of Port Sheldon.
Where should I park?
We have ample parking to the north and west side of the building. Parking is allowed along the streets as well.
Where should I go once I arrive?
Most people like to enter through Door D - it's found on the north end of the building. Our nursery is conveniently down the stairs at that entrance, along with our elevator. Door A is our canopied main entrance on the east side that leads right to the sanctuary and office area.
We have three different worship environments:
Wherever you choose to sit, we have orders of worship and children's bulletins available at each space when you walk in.
We have three different worship environments:
- a traditional sanctuary, which is equipped with a Hearing Loop (T-coil) system
- a casual simulcast worship experience around tables in the Hill (the gym on the west end of the building)
- a young family simulcast worship experience around tables in the Fellowship Hall (on the north end of the building)
Wherever you choose to sit, we have orders of worship and children's bulletins available at each space when you walk in.
What is a service like?
Our worship services are a mix of traditional & contemporary and generally last about 75 minutes. We sing both traditional hymns and contemporary songs, often with a praise team. We spend time in prayer and learning from the Bible. An offering is taken, but it is for our members & regular attenders - please do not feel obligated to give. And please relax, we won't single you out or ask you to do anything you aren't ready for.
Is there a place for my kids?
Absolutely! Here at Hillcrest we love kids and have a bunch of great programs and opportunities for them!
A summertime program is available (June 5-August 28, 2022) for 3 & 4-year-olds. They are dismissed during the worship service and walk to the His Kids are with their teachers. You can be pick your children back up in the His Kids area after the worship service is done.
During the school year, our kids begin in the worship areas with their parents. After a couple of songs, the children come up front for a blessing and then are dismissed to His Kids Worship where kids praise God, encounter God and be still with God. Kids do this through worship, storytelling and crafts.
Parents can pick up their kids after the service is over in the His Kids area in the lower level (located right below the Hill/gym). Note that 3's & 4's are dismissed at the end of the service and Pre-K through 3rd grade are dismissed at 11:30 AM. If you would like to pick your kids up before 11:30, you are welcome to do so.
We have nursery care available at the 9:30 AM worship service for children 0-2 years old.
